There are many things that make a school what it is, but what sets Mountain Laurel apart is the committed faculty and sense of community built around the school. Founded on the principles of Waldorf education, the school strives to educate children in an environment of curiosity, wonder and safety. The combined emphasis on the arts, music, crafts, physical play, outdoor play and academic skills provides a unique holistic education designed to promote enlightened learning. At a time when many schools are turning to academic skills alone and letting the other things fall away, Mountain Laurel remains dedicated to maintaining the high standards a Waldorf education brings to every child that enters it’s doors.
Each year Mountain Laurel asks it’s community to contribute to their Annual Giving Campaign. The reason behind the Annual Giving Campaign is simple. Without these donations, the school would not be able to bridge the gap between the cost of providing a quality education and tuition revenue. The Annual Giving Campaign supports virtually every area of school life: music, art, movement, foreign language, classroom supplies, class plays, festivals, and tuition assistance. The Annual Giving Campaign also supports the school’s major assets: faculty salaries and maintaining our facilities.
Contributions range in size from $10 to $5,000 and come from current parents as well as faculty, board members, past parents, grandparents, alumni, businesses, corporate matches to employee contributions, and family foundations. We strive to reach 100% participation from our entire community. This increases Mountain Laurel’s chances of obtaining grants by proving there are many who truly believe and support that Mountain Laurel is doing it right. We hope you feel the same.
