ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN REMINDER
It’s that time of year again… Please consider giving to this year’s Annual Giving Campaign. Even if you’re only able to give a small amount, it’s so important to our school that we get 100% participation. Like most private schools, Mountain Laurel relies on donations, in addition to tuition, to meet annual budgetary needs. (And those classes that reach 100% participation will receive a pizza, sushi or ice cream party for their teacher and students.) All donations are gratefully appreciated, from the most modest to the very generous! Every little bit helps.
In the spirit of community and love for our school, please consider giving! You can go to mountainlaurel.org and click on ‘DONATE’ or you can hand-deliver or mail your contribution to the school.
A PEEK INTO THE CLASSROOM
From Mr. Neel: The Third Grade had a wonderful trip to Hawthorne Valley Farm. They milked cows, slopped hogs, and ate really good food! The children journaled about their experiences, and those compositions became the writing for their workbooks. At the farm they saw how, by the sweat of our brow, and from thorns and thistles, the food in our pantries comes from really hard work. It’s a lot easier to appreciate something if you’ve done the work yourself, and that’s a great lesson!

From Mr. Aram: The Sixth Grade concluded their study of Roman history with a Theater Arts block. The students brought to life “ROMA / AMOR, A Roman Comedy,” written by long time educator Eugene Schwartz. They also had the opportunity to play a large role in designing their own costumes. We are deeply grateful to the wonderful parents who helped with rehearsals, props, stage set, costumes, and driving, without whom none of this would be possible.
