“To enter Mountain Laurel is to enter another realm. Without exception, every time I return my eyes well and time, it seems, flies backwards.

Crossing that same threshold I crossed as a boy – hearing the small footsteps and laughter, a stray recorder, entering that wood and watercolor world – I am reminded how wildly lucky I am that my parents caught wind of a little school on a hill where little people learn and grow. Truly learn and grow.

To quantify a Waldorf education is impossible but, barring Armageddon, this is where I will send my children.

I learned to think here. I learned to imagine here. I’m not sure where I learned to love but if it wasn’t here, it amplified and encouraged my capacity to mythical proportions.

I love Mountain Laurel. In a strange and unsteady world, it’s a castle, a beacon.
It will always be my home.”
