Why Annual Giving Matters
Mountain Laurel Waldorf School is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. The Annual Giving Fund is the cornerstone of our fundraising and our most important source of unrestricted funds. The true cost of sustaining our school is greater than what we receive in tuition and fees, which cover only 80% of our annual operating budget. We rely on financial acts of kindness to ensure that every student, every day, benefits from a comprehensive and dynamic curriculum. Your tax-deductible gift helps keep tuition more affordable for many families and ensures the continued vibrancy of Waldorf education for our children.
This Year’s Goal: $50,000
November: Learning (Goal: $10,000) – THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY OF OUR COMMUNITY, WE RAISED $11,000!
Funding expanded programming including Eurythmy, Games, Health Education, and CyberCivics—the enriching experiences that make Waldorf education distinctive and whole.
December: Warmth & Light (Goal: $10,000) – THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY OF OUR COMMUNITY, WE RAISED $21,500!
Covering Operations & Infrastructure, particularly energy costs. Help us stay warm and shine brightly through the winter months.
April: Teacher Appreciation (Goal: $10,000)
Honoring our teachers with support for salaries and continuing education. Our teachers are the heart of our school, and this campaign celebrates their dedication and lifelong learning. THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY OF OUR COMMUNITY, WE RAISED $19,225!
The Power of 100% Participation
Our goal is 100% participation among our faculty, staff, board, and families. This all-in record establishes a strong collaborative message – within and outside of our community – that together we are all supporting the well-being and strength of our school.
It’s not about how much you give, but that you give. No gift is too small. Whether you contribute $10 or $1,000, your participation matters because it demonstrates to foundations and funders that our entire community believes in this school.
The impact is real and measurable. After achieving three consecutive years of 100% giving, our grant income grew from $219,000 to $320,000. When funders see universal community participation, they invest more generously in our mission.
While not everyone has the same resources to give, we’re all capable of participating at whatever level works for our individual circumstances. Some families can give more, some less. What matters is that we’re all giving what we can.
