Mountain Laurel Waldorf School provides a curriculum where the arts and humanities are seamlessly integrated into every subject. Our broad, diverse education is rooted in wonder and discovery, and leads to engaged students who love to learn.
In lieu of textbooks, students in the Grades at Mountain Laurel create their own “Main Lesson Books” with illustrations of the stories they are learning, and text they write through both oral and written transcription. In 5th Grade, for example, students create their own learning books about India, and in 4th Grade, about Norse Mythology. The full curriculum also includes music, handwork, sculpture and games that round out and complement the learning themes.
